April will be busy!

April is a very busy month for our library. The entire month is National School Library Media Month and National Poetry Month with National Library Week April 13 - 19 and Young People's Poetry Week April 14 - 20. We hope everyone will Join the circle of knowledge @ your library during Library Week and every day!

During Poetry Week Thursday, April 17, is national Poem in Your Pocket Day. We are going to extend that day throughout the entire week. If students, teachers, or faculty members have a poem in their pocket and will take it out and read it when asked by a mystery poem seeker, those people will win prizes. So plan now for poems to put in your pockets all week long. We will be reading and listening to poetry during the week, particularly during our W.O.R.D. time on Monday, April 14, and we will probably have some other surprise activities.

For our fifth graders their almanac study will culminate in our World Almania competition and the crowning of a championship team. This is always an exciting library event.

On the last day of April our Spring Book Fair begins. Plan to visit us during any of our special events and especially during the book fair to stock up on books for summer reading.
